My Grandpa Gregg was an incredible man. He really could do anything - it wasn't just the awe of a young child. Scouted in high school in small town Ohio for both professional baseball and basketball, he was not embittered when his sociopath father kept him on the farm for the cheap labor. He was loving and kind and he spoiled me.....ohh!! so much. He played endless games with me and bought me a Pong !
When he married my grandma, he farmed fulltime and worked at the foundry AND drove a bread route. She didn't like people working on the Lord's day, so he would work all night in the fields by the tractor lights so he could oblige her.
Then he discovered vacuums and his world would never be the same. His first month of selling vacuums in the tiny, tiny town of Bellville, Ohio and he was the #2 salesman in his district. Not a bad start right ? His 2nd month on the job he was #1 in the nation and he never looked back.
I salute my Grandpa, the Vacuum Man, and all that he was and that he gave me. I am a lucky, lucky girl.
